AetherHarvest Farming Expansion

AetherHarvest includes specialty crops that allow farmers to grow certain custom ingredients directly.

Specialty crops are designed to support the server economy by giving farmers a real role in supplying cooks, taverns, restaurants, shops, and kingdoms.

How Specialty Farming Works

Specialty farming has three main parts:

Specialty Seeds
Specialty Crops
Custom Ingredients

Players can discover specialty seeds while harvesting normal crops or plants. Once found, those seeds can be planted and grown into tracked AetherHarvest crops.

When fully grown and harvested, specialty crops drop custom AetherHarvest ingredients and may return additional specialty seeds.

Current Specialty Crops

Honeygrain
Rice
Cucumber
Frost Sugar
Golden Herbs
Void Pepper
Garlic
Deeproot

Each specialty crop has its own seed item, planting requirements, and ingredient result.

Learning About Specialty Crops

Players can view specialty crop information through the AH Cookbook lectern.

To create one:

1. Rename a Book and Quill or Written Book to AH Cookbook.
2. Place it on a Lectern.
3. Right-click the Lectern with an empty hand.
4. Open the Crops section.

The Crops section shows:

Specialty crop names
How to find their seeds
Where each crop can be planted
Special requirements
Kingdom restrictions
What each crop produces
Possible seed returns

Sneak-right-click allows normal lectern behavior.

How to Find Specialty Seeds

Specialty seeds are rare drops from normal farming and harvesting.

Examples:

Honeygrain Seeds:
Rare drop from fully grown Wheat.

Rice Seeds:
Rare drop from fully grown Wheat.
More likely from Wheat harvested directly beside water.

Cucumber Seeds:
Rare drop from Melon blocks.

Frost Sugar Seeds:
Rare drop from mature Sweet Berry Bushes.
Can also rarely drop from Melon blocks and Glow Berries.

Golden Herb Seeds:
Rare drop from Carrots, Potatoes, and Glow Berries.

Void Pepper Spores:
Rare drop from mature Nether Wart.
Can also rarely drop from Chorus Plants and Chorus Flowers in Norivia.

Garlic Bulb:
Rare drop from fully grown Potatoes.

Deeproot Seeds:
Rare drop from fully grown Beetroots in Underlend.

The AH Cookbook Crops section is the best place to check seed sources in-game.

How to Plant Specialty Crops

To plant a specialty crop:

1. Find or receive a specialty seed.
2. Check the crop’s planting requirements in the AH Cookbook.
3. Right-click the correct planting block with the specialty seed.
4. Let the crop grow.
5. Harvest it when fully mature.

If a crop cannot be planted somewhere, the plugin will tell you why.

Crop Requirements

Some specialty crops have special rules.

Rice:
Must be planted directly beside water.

Void Pepper:
Can only be planted in Norivia.
Must be planted on Soul Sand.

Deeproot:
Can only be planted in Underlend.

Garlic:
Planted on farmland and grows using potato crop behavior.

Honeygrain:
Planted on farmland and grows using wheat crop behavior.

Harvesting Specialty Crops

When a specialty crop is fully mature and broken, it will drop:

AetherHarvest ingredient
Possible specialty seed returns

Example:

Honeygrain crop
→ drops Honeygrain
→ may return Honeygrain Seeds

If a specialty crop is broken before it is mature, it will not drop the ingredient. It will return one seed so the farmer can replant it.

Farmer Tips

Harvest normal crops to discover specialty seeds.
Use the AH Cookbook Crops section to learn where each seed comes from.
Save your first specialty seeds and replant them carefully.
Sell extra ingredients to cooks, taverns, restaurants, and shops.
Some crops are kingdom-specific, so travel and trade matter.

Specialty farming is meant to create a real supply chain:

Farmers grow ingredients.
Cooks turn ingredients into food.
Restaurants and taverns sell meals.
Players buy food for useful effects.

AetherHarvest farming gives farmers a stronger role in Aetherra’s economy.
