Roleplay Guidelines

These guidelines ensure fair, collaborative storytelling.

🎭 1. In Character vs Out of Character

  • IC (In Character): Actions and dialogue within the story
  • OOC (Out of Character): The player behind the character

👉 Keep them separate at all times.

⚔️ 2. Powergaming

Powergaming is forcing actions onto others.

Examples:

  • Forcing another character to lose or be captured
  • Acting without giving others a chance to respond

🧙 3. Godmodding

Godmodding is making your character unbeatable.

Examples:

  • Being immune to all damage
  • Having unlimited power
  • Ignoring consequences

👉 No character is above consequence, not even a Royal

🧠 4. Metagaming

Metagaming is using information your character would not know.

Examples:

  • Acting on Discord info your character didn’t hear
  • Using outside knowledge gained out of character in roleplay

⚖️ 5. Fair Roleplay

  • Roleplay is collaborative – not competitive
  • Both sides must have the chance to respond
  • No one “wins” roleplay

🧩 6. Handling Conflict

If issues arise:

  • Pause the interaction
  • Discuss calmly OOC
  • Involve a Royal if needed

🎯 7. The Goal

The purpose of roleplay is to tell a story together, not control outcomes.
