Trading in Aetherra

FantasyShop is Aetherra’s custom trading system. Instead of using chests or currency plugins, players trade items for items using magical shop signs and storage pages.

This system allows for:

  • Custom item trades (including enchanted and named items)
  • Bulk trading (multi-stack payments)
  • Safe, claimable earnings

📦 Step 1: Create a Shop Stock Page

Before you can sell anything, you need a stock page.

Use:

/shopstock create <name>

Example:

/shopstock create Bread

Then open it:

/shopstock open <name>

Place all items you want to sell into this inventory.

👉 Think of this as your shop’s “warehouse.”

Step 2: Create a Shop Sign

  1. Place a sign
  2. Look directly at it
  3. Hold the item you want to SELL
  4. Run:
/shopadd give <amount> <stockName>

Example:

/shopadd give 32 Bread

Next:

  1. Hold the item you want as PAYMENT
  2. Run:
/shopadd cost <amount>

Example: while holding a diamond

/shopadd cost 3

✅ Your shop is now active!

Step 3: How Trading Works

Players can:

  • Right-click your sign
  • Hold the required payment item
  • Receive the item instantly (if stock is available)

Important rules:

  • You must hold the correct item to pay
  • Items must match exactly (including enchantments and names)
  • You must have enough inventory space

Step 4: Claim Your Earnings

When someone buys from your shop, you don’t receive items instantly.

Instead, they are stored safely for you.

Use:

/shoppayment

This will:

  • give you all available earnings
  • keep extra items stored if your inventory is full

❌ Removing a Shop

Look at your shop sign and run:

/shopremove

Only the owner (or admins) can remove a shop.

🧹 Canceling Shop Setup

If you make a mistake while creating a shop:

/shopadd cancel

⚠️ Common Mistakes

  • ❌ Using the wrong stock name
  • ❌ Holding the wrong item when setting cost/give
  • ❌ Trying to buy with a similar but different item
  • ❌ Full inventory when purchasing

💡 Tips for Successful Shops

  • Use clear stock names (ex: Bread, Sugar_Cane. UnbreakingIII)
  • Keep stock pages organized
  • Check your /shoppayment regularly
  • Test your shop once after creating it
